Parents, community invited to grand march in the casino promenade
The Greene County junior class will transform the Greene Room Event Center at Wild Rose Jefferson into a casino setting of their own for a “Viva Las Vegas” themed junior-senior prom Saturday, April 6.
The public is invited to view the prom decorations Saturday from 4 to 5:30 pm. There is no admission charge to see the decorations, and parents and the public can take pictures there before the evening’s festivities begin.
The grand march will be held at Wild Rose between 6 and 6:30 pm. Spectators should plan to arrive before 6. Students will use the main entrance to the casino and stroll down the red carpet to the Greene Room. Guests can line up outside and in the long hallway to greet the prom goes. They will be introduced and pause for a photo opportunity just before entering the Greene Room.
In the event of inclement weather, students will be dropped off under the canopy at the Wild Rose entrance.
The banquet and prom will both be at the Greene Room.
The dance will end at 11:30 pm. Students will be directed to leave Wild Rose on Highway 4 with traffic assistance from the Jefferson police department.
The after-prom party will begin at midnight at the middle school gym. The theme for the after-prom party is “Casino Royale.” A hypnotist will perform from 1 to 2 am, and there will be a variety of games. Juniors and seniors are eligible for prizes.
Breakfast will be served at 2:30 and the party will end at 3. The party will end at 3 am. Co-chairs of the after-prom party are Crystal Crichton and Jacque Cunningham.
